Hey folks! My name is Arlo and I am a large pug to start with, but at this time, I am also overweight. It’s a little bit of a struggle for me, but Foster Mom is helping by watching the amount of kibble I get and supplementing with green beans. Exercise isn’t that appealing to me, as I move slowly, my old bones and arthritis slow my his pace but not my enthusiasm.
I love to snuggle and have my head scratched or my belly rubbed. Foster mom says I am very affectionate, and have a cute little howl when I’m happy or excited. I love other dogs, but I don’t like it when they step on me when I am sleeping! If that happens, I will nip them.
I have good house manners, but if Foster Mom is going to be gone for a long period of time, she puts a belly band on me.
I do best if I am taken outside every few hours, and cue me that it is potty time. I can use a doggy door, but if my arthritis is bothering me and hurts, I will have accidents. That means long walks are a thing of the past for me, but I love to walk around the yard. I also like to follow my humans wherever they are.
I would love to have a calm and quiet home, with people who want a slower dog. Foster Mom says I have a cute underbite with a couple of teeth that stick out. Foster mom says I am an awesome dog, very special, but I am not for everyone. What do you think? Could I be the right pug for you?
***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
My adoption fee is $125
