Hello dahlings! My name is Mena and I am an APARN Forever Foster princess (I like to add the princess part on myself…lol). I am 12 years old and just as sweet as can be. Nobody knows my history before coming to APARN because I came from a shelter, but there are awesome things about me and some not-so-awesome things too. Let start with the not-so-good and get that out of the way. The shelter that I came from tried to make me prettier by giving me surgery to remove some mast cell tumors and also spay me, but I have a heart murmur and let’s just say that I didn’t do so well under anesthesia so I had to be brought out of it and no surgery could be done. I have a large tumor on my head by my ear and a few more on my legs, tummy, etc. My teeth are pretty yucky so I will probably get an anesthesia-free dental to help with my yucky mouth.
Enough of the not-so-awesome things about me – here are some things that make me awesome. I am a very polite eater. I don’t scarf down my food like my silly foster brothers – I am dainty. I LOVE to dress up!!! Foster mom put me in a princess outfit and I felt so beautiful in it that I pranced around and enjoyed having my pictures taken. I like using the doggie stairs because my legs are a little short and I am not as young as I used to me. I am not on any medications (other than heartworm preventative) and some drops for my eyes because they are a little dry. Chewing on hooves if fantastic and I get my very own to chew on every day while mom is at work. The other pugs in the house don’t really bother me – I like to do my own thing. However, I always want to be there foster mom is so I follow her all over the place, in typical pug fashion. I like to sleep in the “big bed” because it is just so comfy and I even sometimes want to cuddle with my pug brothers or even mom.
Even though I will stay with foster mom for the rest of my days, donations are always helpful to cover costs of my food, vet appointments, eye drops, etc. I probably won’t be attending any events, but APARN will keep everyone posted with updates and pics of me on their Facebook page. I would also love for more people to know about our Forever Foster Program for special pugs, like myself, that need a forever home but cannot be adopted. If you are interested in learning more, please send APARN an email at email@example.com.
Hugs and kisses to everyone!!!

***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
