Hi, my name is Panda. I am a 9 year old female. I experienced many hardships before APARN rescued me from a shelter. I am missing my right eye and I have old scars on my neck. I am not one to tattle but it seems like a big dog tried to eat me. I also had a large stone that took up my entire bladder. I lived with chronic pain until that was removed.
I feel way better now and I have gotten much stronger. I can use the doggy door and climb 2 steps all by myself now but my back end is still a bit weak. Every once in a while, a poop sneaks out as I am climbing through the doggy door. It’s not my fault. I do my best but I may have an old back injury that limits sensation. Other than dropping an occasional land mine, I am perfectly house broken.
I have done very well and made great progress in foster care. I no longer cringe when people pet me. I wag my tail and smile! I have several small stuffed animals that are my babies. I kiss and snuggle them. When someone comes in the door, I greet them with a baby in my mouth and a wagging tail. My babies help me feel safe.
I don’t hear very well. My foster mom shows me my bowl to let me know that it’s dinner time. I always cock my head as if to say, “For me?”. Then I look behind me to see if the food is intended for someone else before I let myself believe that I am really getting fed. I do eat prescription food so that I don’t get any more bladder stones.
I enjoy snuggles, caring for my babies, and short walks. I may be the least demanding pug in the world. I don’t ever expect anything and am thrilled when someone shows me the smallest kindness. I get along well with dogs, the resident token cat, and children. I am super soft and nice to curl up with. I have a very soft snore that my foster folks find comforting.
I would never assume that anyone would want to adopt me, but my foster mom knows that I am very special and deserve someone who will treat me like the princess that I am entitled to be.
***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
My adoption fee is $150
