Hi, Pug Lovers, my name is Scooter. I’m in good health and ready to go to my forever home. There are just a couple of things you should know about me. I’m pretty blind. But I get around just fine. In fact it took Foster Mom a couple of hours to realize I was blind when I first came to her house…and she has her own blind guys! Guess I’m pretty clever, huh? Although I am blind, I use my nose to get around. My hearing isn’t that great but I don’t’ mind. They say I’m ten years old, still frisky and full of fun. I’m also full of love.
I’m in good shape and weigh around twenty pounds. Please help me stay at a slim and trim healthy weight.
After the first couple of days in foster’s house, I’ve used the doggie door — without any instructions, I might add, — and I used it for the right purpose. In my new home I would like to have a fenced yard and doggie door as I like to go out and sun bathe when weather permits. It feels good! I don’t have any trouble finding my way back inside when I’m ready. I would also be happier with a family that is home most of the time. It’s nice to know someone is around in case I need a tummy rub or two.
I sleep in a crate beside the big bed and even go into it on my own for a quiet nap sometimes. Foster Mom used to lock the crate at night but she doesn’t do that anymore. Sometimes I fall asleep in the family room instead of my crate…and that’s OK with everyone. Walking on a leash is fine with me. There are times when I do wander in front of Foster so she keeps an eye on me. I’m pretty good in the car, too. I’m am a quick learner and aim to please.
I’m fed in the same spot each day and I run there as fast as I can when it’s mealtime. Please fill out an adoption application, get a home visit and ask for Scooter. You’ll be rewarded with lots of love and pug kisses.
***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
My adoption fee is $125
