Hi, my name’s Slate, I’m 4 years old, and I love to play! If you toss a toy for me, I will bring it back for you to toss again (most of the time). I have a backyard in my foster home, and I love it because I can run and bark at the birds if they dare to land in the yard. I absolutely must have a home with a backyard big enough for me to run and play in; no apartment or condo dwelling for me! I have some anxiety so it’s important for me to get daily exercise in order to reduce anxiety!
My anxiety comes out as “resource guarding” – I get territorial about my things – well, mostly over food or a cow hoof. I get fed in my crate, and because I get so excited about food, everything works out best if I go In my crate before food prep begins.
Foster mom says I would be an awesome only dog, or maybe a home maybe with an older, quiet female pug or two. I have some pug siblings in my foster home, but I don’t play with them. I would rather snuggle with foster mom, or stack all of the toys onto my dog bed!
I really need a forever person who will devote time and attention to me. I am a good lap snuggler, and will even let you hold me like a baby! Foster mom calls me her shadow, because I just like to be nearby, whatever she is doing.
I have a comfy dog bed in my crate, and sometimes I just go lie down in there for a brief break during the day. I also sleep there at night. I’m a good sleeper! I sleep quietly and comfortably all night long!
Do I sound like the perfect friend for you? If so, please complete the APARN Adoption Application! If you have already submitted an application, just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell them you’d like to meet Slate to see if we can be best friends forever!
***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
My adoption fee is $300
