Hi, I’m Palmer, a pug mix! I’ve got the best qualities of the pug breed (lovebug!) with some non-pug traits that make me super special. Unlike most pugs….
I love tracking and following other dogs’ scents while I’m on walks – which means every outing (by car or foot) is a new adventure for me and my human. It’s my favorite activity.
I don’t snore nor breathe loudly thanks to my long muzzle which means we all sleep well!
I’ve got some great coloring! A black body with a white face and white paws. A handsome guy, if I say so myself.
What about personality, you ask? I’m as sweet as they come. All I want is to be near you. I’ll lay down quietly and stare at you lovingly anytime; anywhere. Just think of me as your little shadow. As a senior-aged dog, I’m a chill guy but I do get excited for mealtime and treats! I’ll start hopping around and doing my cutest happy dance for you! But most of the time I’m just napping. You can leave me home for a half-day at a time, easy. I’ll sleep right through it and greet you with licks when you come back.
I’d love to live with kids 10+ who want a buddy to hang out with while doing homework or watching TV. I’m not much of a lap dog, but I’ll gladly cozy up for some rubs and scratches. If you’ll welcome me onto your couch or into your bed, all the better!
Can we talk mental health for a moment? 2021 wasn’t just hard for the humans, it was a rough year for some dogs as well. Including me. I have some anxiety around strangers (human and canine) and my first instinct is to bark and lunge at them which I know isn’t ideal. Once APARN took me in, I started using daily anxiety medication which makes me feel more at ease. My new family needs to be willing to continue this for my well-being. Going on walks is much easier now!
I’m so excited to meet my forever family! Will you be mine?
***We appreciate your interest in adopting a pug in need. Please respect our process and our time, as we are all volunteers with full time jobs. An application starts the process. We are not able to answer calls with questions about the foster pugs. ***
***We encourage you to come to our adoption events to meet the pugs in person if you are interested in adoption. Again, please do not call regarding the adoptable pugs. APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
My adoption fee is $200
